Method
- Defrost the spinach in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. If using fresh spinach, wash and chop it finely and add a little bit of water and boil until it is soft.
- Finely chop onions and divide it into 2 portions.
- Heat oil in a pan and add green chillies and half the onions. Fry for 2 minutes.
- Add dhania powder, chilli powder and garam masala and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and fry until the raw smell goes.
- Let it cool and then grind spinach, onion and tomatoes into a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds. When it turns brown, add the second half of the onions and fry until the onions become golden brown.
- Now add the ground mixture and mix it thoroughly and cook for about 3-4 minutes in a reduced flame.
- Fry the paneer cubes and add to the mixture.
- Finally, add fresh cream and serve.
Variations:
- Use ginger garlic paste when frying onions.
- Use tin tomatoes instead of fresh ones for the curry as the tin tomatoes are more red in colour, juicy and mixes well soon.
